miércoles, el veintiocho de noviembre

Spanish I:

  • Students practiced asking each other to conjugate the 7 verbs they need to know for the test.
  • We went over how to use "de" in a sentence to show what you own, and also how to use it in a sentence describing family relationships. Students did exercises 10 & 11, pgs 80-81. These will be due Monday, Dec 3rd.
Grammar Notes:
  • There is no apostrophe in Spanish, so to show possession of a thing, or to talk about a family relationship, you need to turn the sentence around, and say that "something is of someone"
Example:
    • La camisa es de Juan. = The shirt is Juan's.
    • El padre de Juan es alto. = Juan's father is tall.
    • Tomás es el padre de Juan. = Tomás is Juan's father.
Homework:
  • Exs 10 & 11, pgs 80-81. Due Monday, December 3rd.
  • Rough drafts of the family project need to be turned in by Monday, Dec 10th. i will post the family rubric on the blog.

Test:
  • The first test will be on Monday, December 10th on the etapa preliminar, unidad 1 (etapas 1-3).  We will review this week and the next.
Tomorrow is a lab day.
