lunes, el once de junio

Spanish I:
  • Students in 2nd and 4th hour were given their All About Me projects, if they were emailed or turned in. These will be due tomorrow. amd if they are not turned in, they will be marked as missing.

viernes, el ocho de junio

Spanish I:
  • Students finished their Spanish I final in the computer lab, and then they worked on their All About Me projects. These will be due by Tuesday, June 12th, and it will count as a test grade. Students can use the internet, textbooks, and work with a friend. If they email me their rough drafts, I will underline the mistakes, and they can correct them for a better grade.
Students may NOT google translate the entire project.

Final Days of Spanish I

All About Me project:
Today you will work on your All About Me IB unit. This will receive a TEST grade, which will give you the chance to improve your term 4 grade and your end of year grade. You have today to work in class, and this weekend.

IMPORTANT:
YOU MAY NOT GOOGLE TRANSLATE
THE PARAGRAPHS.
I will know if you have google translated entire paragraphs by the words and tenses used. You MAY google translate separate words, but not the entire thing, or you will receive an incomplete for the project.

Due date:
You must turn it in to me by Tuesday, June 12th.

Turning the project in:
You may either give it to me in person, put it in my mail box in the office, or email it to me at:

Format:
You may present your project in one of the following ways:
  • written neatly on lined paper (skipping lines)
  • typed (double spaced)
  • neatly written on a poster board
  • presented in a Power Point


You may attach photos or pictures you have drawn. You may write it as a poem or song.

You MUST have all of the points mentioned below.

  • your name, age, and birthday (pg 21, 93)
  • your eye color and hair color  (pg 69)
  • where you live and where you are originally from (if you are not from Michigan originally) (pg 21)
  • describe your family: how many siblings you have and tell me one thing about each one and about your parents. Talk about your grandparents, aunts, and uncles, and cousins. (pg 93)
  • what you are like (2 adjectives to describe your personality and two adjectives to describe the way you look)  (pg 69)
  • what you like to wear (list two things) (pg 69)
  • what you like to do on the weekends or with your friends (list three things) * (pg 47,143,167,195)
  • what sports you like to play (pg 217) (list at least one)
  • Mention two sports you like, and say which one you prefer, and then use más or menos que with an adjective to describe them. (pg 208)
  • what you like to read (or say you don’t like to read)
  • what you like to eat (pg 143)
  • talk about your school schedule and what is your favorite class (p143)

Answers to reading comprehension

Hola Ana,

Estoy muy nerviosa porque tengo muchos examenes la semana que viene (next week). Yo siempre estudio, pero a veces estudiar es muy difícil. Mi horario en mi escuela no es fácil. Tengo muchas clases y tengo muchos exámenes. Tengo un examen en la clase de matemáticas, ciencias, estudios sociales, ingles, y español. Tengo que estudiar mucho en mi casa.

Voy a estudiar con mis amigos Rosa y Luis. Rosa es muy buena en la clase de matemáticas y Luis es muy bueno en la clase de ciencias. Yo soy muy buena en la clase de ingles y en la clase de estudios sociales. Pero necesitamos mucha ayuda de Paco. Paco es muy bueno en español porque él es de España.

Después de la escuela vamos a ir a la casa de Paco para estudiar español. Entonces vamos a ir al parque para pasar un rato con nuestros amigos. Mañana miércoles vamos a estudiar matemáticas en la casa de Rosa. El jueves vamos a la casa de Luis para estudiar ciencias. Por fin, el viernes vamos a ir a mi casa para estudiar inglés y estudios sociales.

Nuestros examines van a empezar el lunes. No me gustan los examenes y no me gusta estudiar. Pero quiero sacar buenas notas y tengo que estudiar mucho. Voy a estudiar el sábado y el domingo. No voy a jugar al fútbol y no voy a ver la television.  No voy a leer un libro y no voy a ir de compras o al cine. Solo voy a estudiar, estudiar, estudiar. Tengo que estudiar mucho para sacar una buena nota. Yo pienso que voy a sacar buenas notas en todos mis examenes.

3rd grade Spanish:

  • Students finished their job flash cards,

martes, el cinco de junio

Spanish I:
  • Students reviewed for their Spanish I final exam this Thursday and Friday. They worked on their oral and written prompts. They received a work packet on verb conjugations which they need to know for the multiple choice and fill in the blank part of their final.
IMPORTANT:
  • The first part of the final (reading comprehension, multiple choice, and verb conjugations) is on Thursday, June 7th.
  • The second part of the final (oral and written prompts) is on Friday, June 8th.
4th grade Spanish:
  • Students finished working on their country projects. These will be displayed in front of Mrs. Fairman's office later on today.

3rd grade Spanish:
  • They finished their job flash cards.

Spanish I:
  • Students had the first part of the 3.2 test, and the second part of the 3.2 quiz.
  • Then they were given all the study materials for the Spanish I final.
  • They worked in class on their oral and written prompts for the final.
IMPORTANT:
  • The second part of the 3.2 test is on Monday. Students can also finish any test or quiz they didn't finish last week.
  • The first part of the final (reading comprehension, multiple choice, and verb conjugations) is on Thursday, June 7th.
