lunes, el veintitrés de abril

Spanish I:
  • Students learned how to use venir (to come) in a sentence.
  • They did exercises #12, 13 & 15 on pg 186. These are due tomorrow.
Grammar Notes:
  • Using "venir" = to come
vengo     venimos
vienes     venís
viene      vienen

Venir is conjugated almost like the verb "tener" and is both a stem-changing verb, and a "go" verb. this means that the "yo" form ends in "go", and the nosotros and vosotros are the only forms that are regular.

When followed by "de" and an infinitive verb, this verb is used to express where you are coming from:

Yo vengo de la escuela. = I am coming from school.
Yo vengo del gimnasio. = I am coming from the gym. (de + el = del)

IMPORTANT:
  • The vocab quiz will be on May 4, and the chapter test will be on May 7th. Students will get study guides, and the oral questions and essay question when we finish the chapter this week.

3rd grade Spanish:
  • Students practiced their city words by doing a crossword puzzle and word search, and asking each other the city words. There will be a match test on these words in a few weeks. Last week students took home flash cards to study them at home.
