- We went over the differences between "ser" and "estar". Both of these verbs mean "to be", but are used for specific things.
- used to describe your looks and your personality (things that cannot change quickly)
Soy baja, morena, y divertida.
- used to describe your gender (boy, girl, man, woman)
Soy una mujer.
- used to say where you are from originally (where you were born or grew up)
Soy de España.
- used to say what your job is
Soy una maestra.
- used to tell time and give the date.
Hoy es jueves. Son las dos y diez.
Estar:
- used to describe feelings and emotions (that can change quickly)
Estoy bien.
- used to describe your location (where you are right now)
Estoy en Michigan. Estoy en la escuela.
Conjugating the two verbs:
Ser Estar
soy somos estoy estamos
eres sois estás estáis
es son está están
